As I mentioned briefly in my Facebook post on Friday, I had the great joy to lead a team of fantastic hairdressers styling the hair of the fifteen models for the SS'12 PPQ show at London Fashion Week. We created a very cool, sleek, graphic centre parted look showing loads of volume at the ends. Very modern, simple and super shiny - healthy hair at its best! The look emphasized the very beautiful collection Amy Molyneax designed for Spring Summer 2012. To re-create this style, start by misting your hair from midlength to ends with a volumizing spray. I really like Wellaflex 2 Day Volume Spay for this, as it can be used on either wet or dry hair and gives tons of body without leaving the hair sticky. Then quickly blow dry your hair using a large round brush. Once all your hair is dry and smooth, enhance the graphic feel by straightening your hair with a straightening iron. Try to use one that allows you to adjust the temperature so you can set it to your hair type and not stress about damaging your hair whilst straightening it. Braun has some great tools, called Satin range, which deliver exactly that: worry free styling.
I would recommend splitting you hair into smaller, workable sections before straightening, this way you only have to straighten each section once, allowing you to get quicker results and avoid over heating your hair. Once you are happy with the look, polish it off using some hairspray to smooth out all fly aways and add loads of shine. I used and prefer Wellaflex Shiny Hold for this, as it just works very well and does exactly what it says on the can - great stuff!
Loved the show and can't wait to do it again in six months!
