Hi everyone! I hope you guys are enjoying Cannes 2013 as much as I am! I had the pleasure of working with another Hollywood beauty for the Cannes 2013 Red Carpet: the gorgeous Zoe Saldana for the premiere of the new Blood Ties movie.
I’m loving all the buzz about her looks at Cannes, and it was so much fun working with her. We tried two really easy, fun looks and her transition from day-to-night was all about effortless glamour and worked well with the gail force winds that where blasting through Cannes that day.
For the daytime, her monochromatic Emanuel Ungaro dress was paired with a lovely matte fuchsia lip colour. The bright pop of colour on her lips complimented the rest of her look, which was kept very soft and simple.
For her hair, we went with a soft, loose blow-dry. Everything about this look was effortless, young and pretty!
For the evening appearance, Ms. Saldana wore a stunning grey Valentino Fall Winter 2013 dress. With its voluminous skirt, the cut-out pattern with pearl piping at the back and flirty white shoulder accents, the dress looked beautiful on the Red Carpet and Zoe was as radiant as ever!
A deeper red lip, some bronze eye shadow and glamorous eyeliner transformed her daytime look into a more night-appropriate style. For her hair, I really wanted to keep her look vibrant and youthful and lively, something that conveyed the kind of energy and vivacity that is a trademark of this lovely actress.
I opted for styling her hair in simple bouncy curls. To play up the style I added a braid accent by creating a thin braid and then wrapping it across the top of her hair in a headband-like style.
It’s a very easy look that you should be able to recreate at home without any fuss. The great part about wearing such a style at a formal do is that it helps to infuse a sense of freshness and flirty fun into a setting where everyone else will be trying more sophisticated hairdos.
Have fun guys! Keep an eye out for more showstoppers at Cannes!
