Best Hair Styles Seen At Toronto International Film Festival 2014

Hi everyone! Have you been following the Toronto International Film Festival this year? So many great films have premiered and we’ve been treated to such a delightful bevy of stars on the Red Carpet and at different events. It is going to be a great year for cinema and it never hurts to ogle the fantastic styling. Here is my pick of the best hairstyles we saw at the Toronto International Film Festival 2014. Have fun! Amanda Seyfried

#AmandaSeyfried #TIFF #2014 Amanda Seyfried’s hairstyle from the TIFF 2014 is one of the most talked about on the Internet, and it is easy to see why! Braids are always a welcome addition to any look, and Amanda’s half-braided-half-ponytail look struck just the right note with her delicate ivory lace outfit. The hair is parted slightly to one side on the front and then braided from the front to the back on both sides. You can choose the kind of braids you would like to go with, from a regular French braid to an inside-out fishtail braid, have fun and play around with styles until you find one you like the best. At the point where the two braids meet at the nape of your neck you can combine the hair together and secure it into a ponytail. If you’d like to do it up a little further you can take a section of hair from the ponytail and braid it and then wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail to cover your hair elastic and dress the look up further. Just tuck away the ends into the elastic and you are all set. You can leave your ponytail absolutely natural or straighten it out, or like Amanda, wear it in loose waves.

Anna Kendrick

#AnnaKendrick #TIFF #2014 Anna Kendrick is such a fun young lady, and of late she’s been really a delight to watch in terms of styling and beauty. Her white dress at the TIFF 2014 was a real Red Carpet hit, combined with her glossy chestnut locks. It is a timeless hairstyle and one that will look good on women of all ages. If you want to try this look on at home begin by washing and conditioning your hair. You can let it air-dry if you have naturally smooth and silky hair, but if you don’t I would recommend blow-drying to get the right texture. Curl your hair using a thick-barrelled curling iron. If you want to avoid heat styling you can also use large foam rollers for this look. Once your hair is curled take a few drops of a shine-boosting serum on your fingers and gently run them through your hair. This will help break the curls a little bit and also make your hair look glossy. Carefully part your hair just slightly off centre and then pull it across and over one shoulder. Add some hairspray to hold the curls together and get ready to wow the world!

Cara Delevigne

#CaraDelevingne #TIFF #2014 Cara Delevigne has become one of the hottest sensations of the fashion and beauty world in recent years, and it is easy to see why. With a striking, feline beauty and an inimitable personal sense of style, the English beauty is a sight for sore eyes. Cara’s hair at the Toronto International Film Festival 2014 was perfect for someone her age: tousled and casual but styled and attractive nonetheless. All you need to do is style your washed and conditioned hair into small-to-medium curls, run your fingers through your hair and then create a deep side part and divide the hair into two sections and pull them to the front over both shoulders. Cara’s hair has been layered a little bit on the top for some added volume and it is quite an easy trick: once you part your hair you don’t have to wear it neatly; if you’ve parted your hair and allowed it to fall naturally into two sections you can take some hair from one side (near the crown) and pull it back over to the other, covering some of the part for a slightly tousled look. Just a little flip back over and you have instant volume! This is a great way to wear your hair if you want to frame your face and leave your neck/ back exposed. Whether you’re showing off a stunning backless outfit or a tattoo or back chain, this is a quick and funky style to throw together.

Keira Knightely

#KeiraKnightley #TIFF #2014 Keira Knightely was absolutely stunning at the Toronto Film Festival this year. Attending for her film with Benedict Cumberbatch, The Imitation Game, the actress was on top of her styling game with perfectly done makeup and soft waves in shoulder-length hair. It’s a very casual hairdo but when paired with the right outfit and makeup, even the simplest style can look really pretty- as we can clearly see on Ms. Knightely here. You can easily add waves to your own freshly washed and blow-dried hair using curling tongs. Keira’s waves here are the perfect balance between tight ringlets and very large, loose waves so they’ve got just the right amount of definition for a semi-formal style. What makes her hair look so great here is that it is obviously in great shape- you only need to glance at the photo to see how healthy, soft and shiny it looks. As I reiterate often, sometimes all you need is healthy hair, good tools and the right products and you can make even the most straightforward hairstyles look fabulous!

Reese Witherspoon

#ReeseWitherspoon #TIFF #2014 The world knows the Legally Blonde actress for her trademark blonde locks and sweet Southern charm, so the sexy smokey eye and bombshell hair had everyone turning around for a second look at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival! This is such a splendid hairstyle for medium to long hair and it is perfect for every occasion: whether you are stepping out for a quick bite with friends or attending your sister’s wedding. You can never go wrong with a great blow out and this hairstyle is a fantastic example of how to wear blow-dried hair without making it poker straight or going the usual ends-curled-in or ends-flipped-out route. You can have fun with a blow-dry too, as Reese here clearly knows! As always, her signature bangs are perfectly styled and a great example of how you can look lovely with bangs at any age. All you need to do is find the right type for your face and go to a good stylist. That’s it for my favourites from the Toronto International Film Festival 2014. Keep your eyes open for upcoming posts on the Fashion Weeks. We’re going to have a great time reviewing the best styles and picking trends for the coming months!
