Best Hair Styles Seen At The Grammy Awards 2015

Hey everyone! Did you manage to catch the Grammy Awards last evening? What a fun show! And so much talent. I was truly blown away by some of the performances and it is always so great to see talent rewarded. The Red Carpet was fun to watch too: I’ve chosen my pick of some of the best looks from the night. An interesting trend that I noted was that there was a lot of short hair and pixie cuts gracing the carpet yesterday. We did see some open hair and long locks and braids, but the major trend of the night was pretty much all above the shoulders.

Let’s take a look at the best hairstyles from the 2015 Grammy Awards:

Iggy Azalea

The Internet has been abuzz with talk about Iggy Azalea’s hairdo at the 2015 Grammy Awards. It is no wonder why: just look at that braid! It seems to defy all laws of gravity and styling logic. Iggy’s hairdo takes crown braids to the next level. We all love a good old crown braid but this vertical, ‘standing’ crown braid is really something else.

Granted, it’s not an easy look to wear or pull off: you’re probably going to need tonnes of practice and a really strong set of biceps to be able to style your own hair this way. And it’s not the most feminine of braids. But, done right, like here on Iggy, it can look absolutely stunning.

Even though Iggy didn’t win any of the four Grammy Awards she was nominated for yesterday, she sure stole the show with her look!

Jessie J

Just look at that bob: it’s razor sharp. That is a fantastic bit of haircutting right there. It’s a strong, bold look and it could have come across as too severe but Jessie J is really making it work. I love how the hair has been slicked down on the head and parted so deep on one side: it’s helping play up the strong lines and angles of the haircut while also keeping things really classic.

Katy Perry

Another hairstyle that has been getting a lot of attention since yesterday is Katy Perry’s lovely lavender bob. The colour is just so fresh and flirty and absolutely perfect for spring. It’s such a refreshing colour and it looked absolutely lovely against her sparkly outfit and major bling.

If you haven’t ever experimented with unusual hair colours, it can be scary. Katy is no stranger to colour and we’ve seen her rock every imaginable shade, from bubblegum pink hair to shimmering mermaid hues. If you’re too scared to commit to such a drastic look, there are two ways you can play around with the trend without taking a big leap: you could either try temporary dyes or chalking or hairspray, or you could start out with fewer streaks of colour before working up the courage for a full head of striking colour.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian’s messy, shoulder-length lob makes for a really sexy, “I woke up looking fabulous” style statement. If you like hairstyles that are easy to wear and maintain, this one might strike your fancy. The shaggy lob has that tousled, just-outta-bed appeal but if you want you could always blow dry or straighten it for a sleeker, more sophisticated appearance. This is a hairstyle that would transform really well from edgy to elegant, and it will suit just about all face shapes and age groups. It’s also a happy medium between struggling with long hair and being scared of cutting it too short.

Zendaya

Here’s another darling short hairdo from the 2015 Grammy Awards. Zendaya’s pixie has everyone sitting up and taking notice. The actress-singer has been known to experiment with her style on the Red Carpet, and she’s no stranger to trying out wigs and extensions. Last evening’s bold look was no different: the petite star shared that she’d donned a wig for the occasion just to see if the short hair would be something she enjoyed. I certainly think she looked incredibly sophisticated.

Pixie and crop cuts need a lot of spunk because going that short can be scary, but in the end it can really be worth it: very short hair is a phenomenal way to play up your features and really emphasise the eyes and the cheekbones. By going short you can let your own natural beauty do the talking and inspire people with your bold style. If you’re not ready to let go of your locks just yet you can make like Zendaya and pull on a wig.
